Oil spill response services
In 2003, SEAWORKS invested in three landing craft which, after conversion, were used for specialist duties on the coast. The vessels have been customised for oil spill response activities, with the beach zone as their field of work. The ships are specialist vessels with a unique multi-use potential, standing out as being extremely suitable for oil spill response work. We are already a natural part of the emergency response service during oil exploration in the Barents Sea and in other locations where there is a risk of the oil coming onshore in the event of an accident.
Through NOFO, SEAWORKS has had beach zone emergency responsibility, for several years, for Statoil, Hydro, Eni and other operators during all coastal exploration activity along the Norwegian coast. Seaworks has entered into long-term agreements for the years to come. A series of oil response exercises has allowed these specialist vessels to prove themselves invaluable in ensuring an effective beach zone emergency response service, and SEAWORKS has been prequalified for work within the oil and gas sector and within the energy sector.
